Rush site hacked!!

i was just on my daily pilgrimage when i found this!! The rush website has probably been hacked by the NeverEverNoSanity webworm!!! try opening www.rush.com .

Long live RUSH...this is trivial....and to those behind this....its gonna take lots more posts...

Is my money safe?

I had this situation where I was to deposit a cheque into my account using an ATM. I realized that there is no way you can really ensure that your cheque has been deposited...except for a receipt stub (which incidentally, you have to fill yourself!). There is absolutely no proof of transaction. I hope my money is safe. I am growing techno-apprehensive day-by-day. During my MS degree, I was asked to read and study a paper that spoke about "resistance to change" (Markus, I think it was) in terms of technological implementation....DEJA VU!!

The Man

"School of Rock" was as educational as it was funny. Among the several "concepts" of rock, the one that I (and many of us) absolutely identify with is that of "The Man". There is The Man in everyones head..only difference is..not everyone wants to deal with him. Unlike Jack, who lives rock! The way it works for me is....make things The Men and face them front and center...In the end, you've bettered yourself.

Google me this...google me that...

Google has launched its Google Desktop, a system that searches file content on your HDD and presents it to you on your browser whenever you launch www.google.com. This is flamboyant, but I wonder if it is secure. I have been told that the mechanism is based on cookies. So for safety's sake, you may write a script to monitor your cookies all the time...but wait...why not just not use the Desktop. But whatever it is, it is another milestone.

Citibank...now what can I say...

Attention: Citibank employees...dont bother reading up on this...you get it all the time...

Citibank, South end road Branch, Bangalore is limbo!! I have heard of people working from vacations. Here at Citibank, there are people taking vacations at work!

Scene 1: Honest man wants to open an account...been a month...yours truly sleeps with cheques!
Scene 2: Honest man goes to CB in person to check up on his account status...is told how a Citibank account is to be opened (he doesn't know!)....is asked to fill up another app...refuses.
Scene 3: Honest man blows his top...comes up with a theory (at any given instant at CB, there are >=3 pissed-off customers)....trust me its been tested multiple times!

CB employees use ornate language or none at all! "I empathize with you", "Can I have your account number?" (remember Honest man? He doesnt have his account yet!!! Thats why he is here!!!), "Hmm...let me see what I can (or cannot) do..." are regular. "Give it (another) three to eight business days..." is a religion!!

Closing scene: Honest man...still no account...but starts getting kicks out of it...
